With Lunascape 5, triple rendering engines are available for web browsing.

How to Know Current Rendering Engine
The rendering engine currently in use is shown in the status bar.
- This icon appears when Trident is the renderer of the current page.
- This icon appears when Gecko is the renderer of the current page.
- This icon appears when WebKit is the renderer of the current page.
How to Switch Default Rendering Engine
- Select [Lunascape Settings] from [Tool] in the menu.
- Select [General]-[General Settings] in the Lunascape Settings.
- Select an engine you want to use from [Rendering Engine Settings]-[Default Browser Engine].
After changing the setting, a new tab renders a web page with the selected rendering engine.
How to Switch Rendering Engine in Currently Open Tab
Switch from Right-Click Context Menu
- Show the context menu by clicking the right mouse button on a tab bar.
- Select the engine you want to use by selecting [Switch Engine] in the menu.
- After selecting an engine, the tab is automatically updated and it's rendered with the selected rendering engine.
How to Switch Rendering Engine by Icon Click on Status Bar
- Click the left mouse button on the icon in the status bar and select the engine you want to use in the list.

How to Associate Rendering Engine with Each Web Site
With Lunascape 5, it's possible to associate an engine with a specific web site.
- Select [View]-[Sidebars]-[Settings] in the menu.
- Select [Engine Auto-Switch].
- Drag and drop the tab to the engine you want to use for the web site shown in the tab.
- After drag and drop, check if the web site has been correctly set up for the engine.
After this setup is done, Lunascape renders the page with the associated engine.
How to Associate Rendering Engine with Each Favorites Item
Click the right mouse button on a Favorites item and select [Properties].
Select [Status] in the settings dialog.
By checking [Each item has its status], [Default Engine] becomes selectable.
After selecting an engine, the Favorite item is rendered with the associated engine.

Since Internet Explorer bundled with Windows OS uses this engine, most web pages support it.
It powers Firefox and other web browsers. one of its characteristics is its fast execution of JavaScript used frequently on modern web pages.
