Setting up Engine Auto-Switch, each web page can be associated with a rendering engine to render the page.

How to Add Engine Auto-Switch Setting

  • Select [View]-[Sidebars]-[Settings] in the menu.

  • Select [Engine Auto-Switch] in the settings bar.

  • Drag and drop the tab to the engine you want to use for the web site shown in the tab.

  • After drag and drop, check if the web site has been correctly set up for the engine.

After this setup is done, Lunascape renders the page with the associated engine.


Engine Auto-Switch Use Case No.1

This section illustrates how to use Gecko only for Facebook while using Trident for other web sites.

Set Trident as the default rendering engine in the Lunascape settings. Then add Facebook to the Engine Auto-Switch list by the steps described above.

You have to add an asterisk at the end of the URL if you want to let Gecko render not only the top page but also all pages hosted at Facebook.


Engine Auto-Switch Use Case No.2

This section illustrates how to use Trident only for an internet bank while using Gecko for other web sites.

Set Gecko as the default rendering engine in the Lunascape settings. Then add the login page of an internet bank to the Engine Auto-Switch list by the steps described above.
